Within the thousand kilometers of Sicilian coast, the coastal dunes landscape exerts a strong charm, but above all it acts as the custodian of a very important natural balance.
The sand, carried by the wind from the coast inland, settles forming harmonic geometries.
The typical vegetation of the coastal dunes allows for rapid consolidation and conservation.
The sand and the vegetation are teeming with life.
Flora and fauna live in coastal environments characterized by sand dunes, in a very delicate and very important balance.
Between degradation and conservation, between speculation and defense of the environment, between looting and conservation of beauty, we went to see what is the state of conservation of the coasts and beaches along the Sicilian coasts, with particular attention to the coastal dunes.
We have also sought to get to know those who study them in an effort to promote knowledge and respect.

Laureato in Scienze dello Spettacolo e delle produzioni multimediali con il massimo dei voti e la lode (Fotografia, cinema, teatro e televisione), è inoltre laureato in Scienze Pedagogiche e in Scienze dell’Educazione e della Formazione e si è specializzato in informatica presso l’Università della Calabria . Esperto di arti visive e formazione, è stato docente di materie informatiche, tecnologie multimediali, fotografia e video. E’ direttore artistico della rassegna “Nebrodi Cinema Doc”, per film e documentari sul tema della valorizzazione e salvaguardia dell’ambiente e su tematiche sociali. E’ presidente dell’Associazione URIOS, cultura, arti, solidarietà. E’ stato componente della direzione artistica dell’AIFF (Acquedolci Independent Film Festival). E’ direttore artistico di Zyz – Annuario Fotografico Contemporaneo, promosso dall’Editore Navarra (Palermo).
